How much luggage can I bring on my Greyhound trip?
Greyhound will accept one carry-on bag under 25 pounds, and one checked bag which must not exceed 62 inches when adding up the dimensions (length + width + height) and should not weigh more than 50 pounds.
Up to 2 additional bags can be checked for $20 each. Bikes can be transported if they fold down into a wood or canvas container (you’ll need to pay an oversized item charge, too). See the Greyhound luggage policy for more details.
Does Greyhound have amenities on board?
Greyhound does offer WiFi, power outlets, and bathrooms on board most of its trips. Please keep in mind that since these are complimentary it is within the carrier's rights to not offer them on specific routes or if there are technical issues outside of their control.
Does Greyhound have a discount for children or infants?
Infants aged 2 and under can sit on the lap of a fare-paying adult, with no ticket required. Greyhound requires that all passengers older than 2 purchase a full-price ticket for travel.

Can minors travel alone on Greyhound?
Children between the ages of 12-16 may travel unaccompanied, with restrictions. Unaccompanied minors must have a completed Unaccompanied Child Form and pay a full adult fare. See details on Greyhound's Children Traveling page.
Travelers 17 years of age and up qualify as an adult when traveling.
After Booking Your Ticket
I didn't receive my confirmation email or ticket from Greyhound!
Confirmation emails are sent by Greyhound to the inbox or spam folder of the email address provided on the check-out page. If you did not receive your confirmation email, Wanderu can help! Greyhound has two ticket delivery methods to select from on the checkout page:
If you chose to ‘Print Your Ticket at Home,’ please print the PDF file you receive prior to arriving at the station. If you have not received your ticket email from Greyhound, please let us know by emailing [email protected] and we will be able to pull up a copy for you.
If you chose to ‘Pick Up at Station,’ you should arrive at least 45-60 minutes before your departure and present your email confirmation and your ID to the clerk. Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you need your confirmation number.
If you chose to print at home, please know the clerk at the counter will not have your ticket in their system. If you select the pick up at station option, you cannot change it to print at home. Carriers use two different systems for tickets and the one online is not connected in anyway to the one at the station.
Do I need to print my Greyhound ticket?
Greyhound does require a printed ticket. If you chose to 'Print Your Ticket at Home' and do not have a printer, please go to your local library or copy shop for assistance.

How early should I arrive at the station?
We recommend arriving at least 20-30 minutes before the departure time to prepare for the boarding process. If you chose to pick up your ticket at the station, we suggest arriving at least 45-60 minutes before your departure in case there is a line at the ticket desk.
Do I need an ID to board my bus?
Yes, Greyhound requires you to present an ID to an agent to board the bus. Make sure you have identification issued by a government agency that meets the carrier’s requirements. Alternative IDs, like a college ID, won’t work. If you do not have an ID, please contact Greyhound directly to ask about alternative boarding options.
Cancelling or Changing Your Greyhound Reservation
Can I make changes to my ticket?
As long as the bus has not already departed, you can reschedule your trip to another date. To change your ticket, contact Greyhound directly at +1 (800) 231-2222; there is a $20 fee for rescheduling Greyhound tickets. Changes only include the date and time of the trip, not the departure or arrival locations. All tickets are non-exchangeable after the bus has departed.
Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?
Unfortunately, all Greyhound tickets are nonrefundable. If you purchased travel insurance with Allianz when you booked your ticket, you can file a claim for reimbursement - see details here.

I missed my bus! What do I do?
Catching the next trip out or requesting a refund for the unused ticket would be completely up to Greyhound, since reservations and transactions are done directly with the carrier.
Usually, no refunds or credits will be given in instances where passengers miss the bus, but you can always contact Greyhound to inquire at +1 (800) 231-2222.
