Cancellations, Changes & Refunds

Things to know if you need to change or cancel your ticket or if you are looking for a refund

Wanderu is a bus and train travel search platform — all tickets are booked directly with our travel partners. Because of this, your ability to cancel or change a ticket depends entirely on the policies of the carrier you booked with, as outlined in Wanderu's and the carrier's terms and conditions, which you accepted at the time of purchase.

Making Changes or Cancellation Requests

In most cases, changes, cancellations, and refund requests must be submitted directly to the carrier you're traveling with. Because many carriers enforce strict deadlines for changes and cancellations, we strongly recommend contacting them as soon as possible. Here is a list of all our partnered carriers.

Refund & Exchange Options

Most of our partners' tickets are non-refundable. However, depending on the carrier, you may have options such as:

  • Postponing or exchanging your ticket

  • Cancelling in exchange for a travel voucher

Please note that Wanderu has no authority over refunds, cancellations, or itinerary changes beyond what is permitted under each carrier's policy.

Final Sale Tickets (Non-Exchangeable / No Credit)

Some tickets sold through Wanderu are considered as Final Sale (as stated within the terms and conditions). These are typically the most affordable fares available at the time of booking, and as a result, they cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or credited — for any reason. The only exception is if the carrier cancels the trip entirely, in which case a refund will be issued.

Travel Protection

If you purchased travel protection at checkout, you may be eligible to file a reimbursement claim with Allianz Partners if you're unable to travel due to a covered reason. This may also cover non-refundable fees if your cancellation qualifies under your policy. To learn more about filing a claim, please refer to your insurance policy documentation or go here.
